Spanish 21 Strategy Chart: Every Two-Card Hand, Solved
Spanish 21 removes the four tens from every deck and pays you back with generous rules: a player 21 always wins, five-card and 6-7-8 21s pay bonuses, and you can double on any number of cards and surrender a double. With fewer tens in the shoe, the dealer busts less often, and that changes a lot of familiar plays.

S = stand, H = hit, D = double, P = split, R = surrender. Six Spanish decks, dealer stands on soft 17, double after split, late surrender, double-down rescue.
Where Spanish 21 differs from regular blackjack
- Hit more stiff hands. Hard 12 and 13 hit against every dealer card, because the dealer's small upcards bust less without the tens. Hard 14 stands only against 4, 5 and 6.
- Double less. Hard 9 doubles only against a 6, and hard 10 stops doubling against 9 and up.
- Split less. 4s never split, 6s only against 4 to 6, and 9s stand against 2, 7, 10 and ace.
- Surrender hard 17 against an ace. It is the one hand worth giving up at this table.

Three or more cards
This chart is for your first two cards. Once a hand has three or more, Spanish 21's bonuses start to matter: a five-card 21 pays 3 to 2, so hitting a four-card 16 is sometimes right where it would not be on two cards. The app solves those spots too, with the card count included.
With this strategy the house edge is about 0.42% of each bet.
